Our sandwich drive is a simple act of kindness with a powerful impact. Through the support of our learners and ground staff we prepare and donate sandwiches to disadvantaged schools helping to fight hunger and spread hope. A heartfelt thank you to our community, OIS Parents and the Orient Old Boys for your ongoing support and generosity. Your contributions are really making a difference.
In term 1 our primary school learners embraced the spirit of giving by creating their own charity jars Each coin collected went towards purchasing sweet treats for children in disadvantaged communities. A small gesture from little hands, making a big difference in many hearts.
Our iftaar programme is a beautiful collaboration of unity and giving. Our primary school Iftaar programme is a bring and share hosted by the Primary School LRC, creating a memorable evening filled with spirituality and togetherness.
Our highschool iftaar programme is spearheaded by the high school LRC who hosts learners from the Islamic Guidance. This is made possible through efforts in collecting money and donations of dates water milk and savouries. Their dedication reflected the true essence of giving during the blessed month of Ramadaan.
In a heartfelt gesture and gratitude, hampers are prepared and gifted to all support staff. This initiative was led by the young entrepreneurs club under the commerce department with incredible support from our primary school, parent community, generous sponsorships and donations of essential items. Together we celebrate the value of services and appreciation to those who work tirelessly behind the scenes.
In celebration of Eid, our Primary and High School learners partnered with An Nur Helping Hands to bring joy to those in need. Through generous sponsorships, beautifully wrapped gift boxes are collected and presented as part of our special Eid Treasure initiative. A heartfelt thank you to all those who contribute to spreading smiles.
Our primary and high school LRC members lead heartfelt outreach initiatives like visiting old age homes and orphanages to share time, warmth and thoughtful gifts. These visits were made possible through the sale of items to raise funds and generous sponsorships. A beautiful example of our learners putting compassion into action
Our primary school intermediate phase and leadership team happily hosts learners from Imaani Village for time filled with reading, team building and friendship. This initiative promoted a love for learning and meaningful connection across communities. This programme was made possible through generous sponsorships that covered meals and transport making it a memorable and enriching experience for all involved.
In honour of Mandela Day, our school comes together to show appreciation for the incredible helpers who make a difference every day. Our parent community donate items to celebrate this special occasion. A fun run is also held to raise funds and support creating a day of service, unity and gratitude.
The Primary school and LRC work together on a meaningful project aimed at funding and supporting development of a neighbouring or sister school. Our focus is on enhancing education through initiatives like feeding schemes, building new infrastructure, maintaining existing facilities or providing necessary resources This project underscores our commitment to community growth and the betterment of education for all.
In our commitment to fostering compassion and awareness, our school actively participates in various initiatives to support those battling illness. Our ECD learners are involved in CHOC- Cancer fundraiser by introducing flip flop day, raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer. Our ECD learners also contribute through sponsorships of items to support the cause.
In addition, the High school LRC is hosts a Cup o’Tea event or a Pink Lemonade or pink Hijab day to raise awareness and funds for cancer support. Learners will sell cupcakes, tea and pink lemonade with all proceeds going to charity.
Our school is committed to supporting global humanitarian efforts throughout the year. Planned by the Islamiyaat department, educators and school clubs. We organize outreach drives to provide international relief for regions in need including Syria, Rohingya, Palestine Yemen and other troubled areas. These initiatives are made possible through the generous support of our parent and school community who contribute in various ways to ease the suffering by those affected by conflict and hardship.
In addition we run Meals of Mercy, providing meals to those in need and Letterland Market Day in the primary school ECD phase, where learners participate in a fun and educational fundraising event.
Our learners engage in a vibrant school life with clubs like Debate, Science, Robotics and more.
Our active network includes our board members, Mothers Committee, Parents Committee and more. .
An integral part of our schooling community includes: Prefects, LRC, Peer Promoters, Islamiyaat Head, etc.
To help and enhance others through community driven programmes. We work together to create a bright future.
