Over the past 65 years, we have developed a proud tradition of all round excellence and we continue to build on this by incorporating innovative approaches to prepare learners for the challenges of the 21st century.

Our History

Members of the Orient Islamic Educational Institute, a not for profit company founded in 1942, responding to the dire shortage of schools for children of colour in the Durban area, decided to embark on a school-building project. The cryptic history which follows captures the struggles of these far-sighted pioneers and their tenacity in achieving their goal despite the numerous obstacles placed in their way by the racist citizenry and government of the day.
